Serenity Spanish Restaurant's New Outlet at Ngee Ann City

Serenity Spanish Restaurant - Ngee Ann City - Chochinillo Asado Third time’s a charm for Serenity Spanish Restaurant with its latest outlet at Level 5 of Ngee Ann City. Flaunting a decidedly more flamboyant Spanish flair—what with the dramatic chandeliers and wallpaper—compared to their more rustic VivoCity flagship, their new outlet also serves up some new and exclusive dishes that’ll excite regulars.

Serenity Spanish Restaurant - Ngee Ann City - Pan con Alioli

Chow down on quintessential, crowd-pleasing tapas standards—their Gambas al Ajillo (sautéed tiger prawns with garlic and extra virgin olive oil) and Patatas Bravas (bite-sized roasted potatoes with a robust romesco sauce and aioli) make for great small bites as you unwind over Sangrias.

Serenity Spanish Restaurant - Ngee Ann City - Braised Beef Tendon

I particularly enjoyed the Braised beef tendon ($33.80). Lightly simmered in Spanish red wine and herbs for over 6-hours, the tendon is delightfully tender and the gravy salivatingly flavoursome—so good, we ordered extra servings of Pan con Alioli (housemade herb bread tempered with sun-dried tomato that is crusty then soft inside) to wipe it up.

Serenity Spanish Restaurant - Ngee Ann City - Char-grilled Braised Beef Tongue

Also delicious and worth many more visits are the Honey roasted pork ribs, and (not surprisingly) other beef dishes like the Char-grilled braised beef tongue, and the oh-so succulent Slow-cooked beef cheek ($38.80) served with sautéed mushrooms and perfectly poached baby carrots.

Serenity Spanish Restaurant - Ngee Ann City - Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks

Serenity Spanish Restaurant - Ngee Ann City - Chochinillo Asado Sliced

Serenity also serves up plenty of Paella—ranging from squid ink, lobster, vegetarian to even pork ribs—but their signature Spanish suckling pig, Chochinillo Asado ($388 whole, $198 half, $108 quarter) remains a highlight.

Marinated in sherry, white wine and herbs then slow-roasted till fall-off-the-bone tender, the piglet is deftly sliced with the edge of a plate at the table into crisp and glistening, toothsome morsels. The plate is then presented to diners to smash as a symbol of throwing away back luck.

Serenity Spanish Restaurant - Ngee Ann City - Peras al Vino Tinto

If you still have the stomach for desserts, they’ve got some crowd-pleasing options like the Peras al Vino Tinto ($14.80, pear poached in red wine, star anise, cinnamon and vanilla bean)serve with vanilla ice cream, and housemade Spanish churros ($12.80) with hot chocolate.

National Day Promotion From now till 15 August, enjoy a FREE Peras al Vino Tinto ($14.80) with every order of Crayfish paella ($78 for 2-3 pax) at Serenity VivoCity and Serenity Ngee Ann City.
